History of Bucks CF

Sir Nigel MobbsSir Nigel Mobbs, KStJ JP was appointed Her Majesty's Lord Lieutenant for Buckinghamshire in 1997, and in 1998 he took the first steps to create Buckinghamshire Community Foundation of which he became the President and most generous benefactor.

The formation of Buckinghamshire Community Foundation is seen as one of the most significant achievements of his Lieutenancy. Following two years of research and fundraising, Buckinghamshire Community Foundation was launched in 2000 and in that year we made grants of £16,000.

Ten years later the Foundation has now made grants of £2.6 million in Buckinghamshire. It is through the support of the Friends of Buckinghamshire Community Foundation that this has been made possible. More recently individuals and companies have been swift to follow the leadership of Sir Nigel to improve and strengthen the community we live and work in. They have captured the vision and started their own Named Funds.
