Things you need to know

Currently we award grants of £50 up to £10,000
We have deadlines for applications throughout the year
If you need a grant you first fill in an Expression of Interest
On receipt we send you a relevant grant application form to complete
You can get advice and support to help you fill in your application
During our assessment we will be in contact to talk through your application
We want to fund well run organisations; so we will need to see financial statements and ask you about your policies, procedures and constitution.
Your application will then go to our Grants Committee
You will hear from us within 7 working days of a decision being made

Buckinghamshire Community Foundation recognises that to thrive in the long term, voluntary and community organisations must cover the full costs of their activities. We therefore encourage all organisations applying for a grant to submit properly costed bids which include the cost of their overheads.

Exclusions applicable to grants from all funds

The criteria do not allow the awarding of Grants:

To organisations and projcts operating solely outside the County of Buckinghamshire
To promote religious causes
For overseas travel
To individuals
To statutory organisations (with the exception of Parish Councils)
For any party political activity
For recurrent expenditure or ongoing core costs
To organisations whose principal concern is animal welfare
For relief of statutory responsibilities
Fee-paying schools

Who decides which organisations receive grants?

We have an independent panel which meet every other month to consider applications. They are a group of volunteers, experts in their fields with knowledge of the county and the voluntary sector. The panel has been established since the inception of Buckinghamshire Community Foundation. Our processes regarding the allocation of grants have been approved by the recent industry Quality Accreditation.
