Helping Companies
Would you like to fulfil your Corporate Social Responsibility aims?
Is yours one of the many companies want to support their local communities but do not have the time, staff, or expertise to handle the many charitable appeals you receive. Setting up a Named Fund with Buckinghamshire Community Foundation is simple and hassle-free and allows you complete freedom to achieve your charitable objectives.
For just £2,000 per year you can make grants of up to £1,000 each and all we request an administration fee of 10%.
The rest of the work is up to us and we will:
- Find local projects that match your charitable wishes.
- Use our local knowledge to ensure that your money goes to organisations and projects whose work has been thoroughly vetted.
- Every application is assessed by our grants officers and voluntary grants panel.
- Our grants team work with applicants to make their application the best it can be.
- You can forward requests for charitable donations to us, saving you time and the heartache of saying no. It is possible that we can match requests that are unsuitable for your fund to other funds held within the Foundation or find other sources of funding within the County.
- Make sure that your giving is tax efficient, ensuring that every penny which goes into your fund is used to the best possible effect.
- Ensure that your company receives full recognition for all donations made. Many of our cheque presentations are covered by the local press.
- We monitor all grants made on your behalf and keep you informed of their progress.
- We give you regular feedback on how your money is being spent and what has been achieved.
The first step…
...is to meet with us and discuss what you would like your fund to achieve. We'll guide you through a variety of options including the amount you are able to commit and the themes and geographical areas within the County that you wish to support.
Named Funds that are already making a difference within the County:
Enrichment Technology Company of Marlow supports projects within the Marlow and Wycombe areas. These include set-up for a community magazine for the Totteridge area of High Wycombe and an emergency exit ramp for Marlow Age Concern.
Dreams Plc supports community groups in South Bucks (Wycombe District Area), specifically for disadvantaged (not disabled) young people between the ages of 10 and 30, e.g. homeless, bereaved, addicted, wayward, vulnerable, etc. Read more about the Dreams Story
The Sherling Charitable Trust gives £2,500 per year for sports projects and their contribution so far includes the costs of improving the access for wheelchair users at Whiteleaf Bowmen Archery Club in Lacey Green and sponsoring the Sporting Challenge for the PACE Centre at the Stoke Mandeville Stadium.
How do Employees get involved?
We would hope that employees may become involved by adopting some ownership with reference to the support given to the Foundation. Perhaps they may be encouraged to fundraise for the charity to add to the Named Fund, and they may be offered the opportunity to represent the donor company at cheque presentations.
