Players play on thanks to Foundation's support

Successful local amateur dramatic group, Holmer Green Players, has just finished three sell-out performances of their latest song and dance show, 'Let's face the musicals – and dance', thanks to support from Buckingham Community Foundation.
Whilst England were struggling to a draw against Algeria on 18th June, more than 100 people filled the Village Centre to see the group presented with a cheque for £688 from the Buckinghamshire Community Foundation to help the group update their lighting equipment.
The cheque was presented by Bill Reid from the Foundation, to the Players' Secretary, Sam Edgley and Junior lighting engineer Toby Buckle.
"The award reflects the group's active role in providing affordable drama training for under 16s", said Bill. "It's great to know that the Player's Junior section has been running for over 20 years and many of the current adult members started as Juniors!"
Buckinghamshire Community Foundation provides support and funding at grassroots level to small groups and organisations throughout the county. Since January 2000, thanks to the backing of its private, corporate and statutory supporters, the Grants and Outreach team at the Foundation has helped over 1,000 projects and given more than £2.7 million in grants.
